What is shiatsu and how can it help runners?

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of pressure work, in Western terms it can be seen as trigger point therapy and/or a myofascial release technique. In Eastern medicine it is a way of balancing the body so it functions as it is meant to.

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork which uses touch as its primary tool for helping the healing process begin in the receivers body.

I have used shiatsu on athletes for almost 20 years now and the results are fantastic. I have been able to make links to the root cause of many issues due to the integral nature of TCM.

Some of the major issue I have helped with far most types of runners (triathletes, marathon runners, sprinters, cross country/ trail runners , etc.) include;

I have treated many runners in my career at all the clinics I have worked at, in the UK, South Africa and now in Denmark, Aarhus.
