Sports Massage For Runners
What is shiatsu and how can it help runners?
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of pressure work, in Western terms it can be seen as trigger point therapy and/or a myofascial release technique. In Eastern medicine it is a way of balancing the body so it functions as it is meant to.
I have used shiatsu on athletes for almost 20 years now and the results are fantastic. I have been able to make links to the root cause of many issues due to the integral nature of TCM.
Some of the major issue I have helped with far most types of runners (triathletes, marathon runners, sprinters, cross country/ trail runners , etc.) include;
I have treated many runners in my career at all the clinics I have worked at, in the UK, South Africa and now in Denmark, Aarhus.
In my treatments it is common for me to use other tools from TCM, like acupuncture , auricular therapy and cupping. Using all of these techniques it is much more accurate and allows me to get to the root of the issue while still working on the problem presented by you.
