A typical sports massage at Shiatsu Bodyworks involves a deep tissue manipulation using pressure points and stretches combined with either cupping or acupuncture.
I have found this to be a great treatment for most pain related issues that I encounter with athletes, both professional and people who do regular exercise.
It is not reserved for athletes, even though the name might suggest it. On the contrary, this treatment might be even better for the sedentary folk, by creating some internal movement in their bodies.
