Shiatsu Therapy & Massage in Aarhus
How i work
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork which uses touch as its primary tool for helping the healing process begin in the receivers body.
Shiatsu is a combination of Chinese massage and western techniques of physical manipulation, brought together with the essence of Japanese culture to create a complete system of healing through touch, using many key theoretical aspects of Traditional Oriental Medicine.
Shiatsu techniques includes stretching, holding and leaning body weight into various parts of the recipients body in order to improve energy flow, blood circulation, flexibility and posture.
Treatment is focused along specific channels (meridians) of subtle energy called ki in Japanese or qi in mandarin. Ki is the life force that animates our body, mind and spirit.
Shiatsu literally means finger pressure but as a complete healing system it is much deeper than this, the spirit of shiatsu is communication or connection through touch.
The practice of shiatsu in its origin is closely linked to the principles of Zen and Tao. In order for the recipient to receive an integrated, connected sense to his or her session, the practitioner would have to enter a deeper state of awareness where their mind does not wonder, giving it space to connect, sense and feel imbalances in the receivers body, this is one of the main tools of shiatsu for diagnosis and linked to the tcm diagnosis techniques there is usually an accurate diagnosis with positive results.
